Head Coach Skip Prosser
On the game...
"It feels good to get that first win under out belt. For the first 30 minutes we played as well as we can play and then Georgia Tech went and made a run and I have respect for Coach Hewitt's team. He is a flat out warrior. I thought for at least the first 30 we played well. We shot the ball well, had more assists than turnovers and our steal total was much better than in the past.
On Harvey Hale...
"He made a couple big shot and then he made his free throws. He gave us some really good stability tonight and he is our point guard."
On the changing starting line...
"We are just trying to find a winning combination. It has been unacceptable losing three in a row. Our goal is to stay relevant in the ACC, which we have been for the past three years. We are going to tinker our line-up until we have it right.
On the end of the game...
"Maybe we haven't held a lead like that in a while. I give them credit because they made some tough shots. But we rushed a few times and there is no reason to do that."
Georgia Tech Head Coach Coach Hewitt:
On the game...
"I thought we were ready. Our shootaround was great, we had a lot of energy and a lot of bounce. From what it looked like to me, I think that Wake took it to us physically and we didn't respond at all. Our comeback did show that if you give an unbelievable effort that it can be contagious. I guess that is what it is going to be with this team -- while you are talented, you must go out every night and play hard every single possession of the game."
On Harvey Hale...
"Harvey Hale made some big plays and he has been playing a lot better. We talked extensively about him coming into the game. It seems like he is getting a lot more comfortable. He shot the ball very well the last couple of games and you can see he is coming along. He is a good player and I saw him during the summer and you can tell he is going to be a very good player."
On Justin Gray
"You can't have any breakdowns against a player like Justin. He hit three 3-pointers when we backed off and you have to make him work for every basket. If a scorer like that gets some easy looks, their confidence gets kind of high and then we don't have any shot of stopping them."
On coming back in the end of the game...
"I think you have to credit some of the guys that came off the bench. I thought they did a good job and played very hard. At the same time it didn't feel like we were really into the game. I thought we had a lot more work to be done. We could have pressed them a little more and they established themselves in the first half with very strong and physical play."
