Wake Forest Head Coach Skip Prosser
On the game:
"There's not much to say. We're obviously at a low ebb right now. We have to find a way somehow within ourselves to fight our way out. We won't quit. We have to fight our way out. Give Florida State credit. They shot the ball very, very well in the first half from three."
On trying to feed the ball to Eric Williams:
"We were trying. They do a good job of keeping the ball out of his hands. We get the ball to him further away from the basket. We ran plays to get him the ball. He was not feeling 100 percent, and that sort of inhibited our abilities to get the ball inside to him."
On positives from the game:
"We scrapped and gave ourselves a chance. A couple of times we were one possession away. A bad offensive or a bad defensive possession. We had 16 offensive rebounds. Our kids were trying to hit the boards hard. We got off to a great start with the crowd involved. We struggled offensively and gave up too many good looks on the defensive end."
On Florida State being tired:
"They gave us chances. They missed some free throws, took some good shots. They gave us chances to grab the game, but we didn't have it within us to do that."
Florida State Head Coach Leonard Hamilton
On the game:
"You have to have a lot of people very well. I thought our players played with a tremendous amount of focus and aggressiveness. I thought one of the reasons why we played well with such a quick turnaround was because of the respect we had for the job Wake Forest has done over the last several years. We know they're a very good basketball team. They have played a lot of good basketball and have come up short, and we knew this game meant a lot to them.
On the bench:
"I think our players stepped up and played with a tremendous amount of focus. We got great help from our bench and they gave us a big lift when they got in. Anytime you can get good help from your starters and then get that much effort and effort and consistency from your bench, it makes you a better team. It keeps you fresher. And this was one of those games with the quick turnaround that we really needed tremendous help from our bench. It gave us an emotional lift and it inspired our starters when they came back in."
On maintaining focus:
"We had three really good possessions. We moved the ball, reversed the ball and got good shot opportunities. Sometimes we have a tendency to knock the homerun. I thought we settled down, got control of our emotions and executed very well down the stretch."
On the quick turnaround from Sunday:
"We knew with the quick turnaround and the emotion that we spent and the letdown that we received from Sunday's loss, we would need our guys energy and consistent play from our nonstarters. They knew the roles they had to play. They came ready mentally and emotionally and it really gave us a big lift. I thought it energized us in the beginning."
