WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 9 Wake Forest women's soccer team will take on No. 24 Duke, Wednesday Oct. 11 at Spry Stadium. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. The game will be televised nationally by Fox Soccer Channel.
Wednesday night's game will be the first-ever televised appearance for the women's soccer team. The Demon Deacons will look to reverse their fortunes against the Blue Devils, who have won the last three meetings at Spry and the last eight in the series. A win on Wednesday would be the first time in exactly eight years that the Deacs have defeated Duke.
The Demon Deacons enter the match on a four-game ACC winning streak, which is the longest in program history. Duke enters the game with a 7-5-1 record and a 4-2-1 mark in the conference
Wake Forest hasn't scored a goal against the Blue Devils since 2003, and will look to senior Elizabeth Remy to add to her total of seven goals on the year. The Deacons have a very balanced attack, seven of the 10 other goal scorers besides Remy have scored more than once on the year.
Duke counters with standout freshman KayAnne Gummersall, who leads the Devils with six goals on the year.
