WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Senior Elizabeth Remy was named to the first team All-ACC, while junior Kristina Hanley was named second team All-ACC, as announced by the league office today. Wake Forest also placed freshmen Sarah Winslow, Kaley Fountain and Allie Sadow on the ACC All Freshman Team.

The Demon Deacons, along with North Carolina, led the conference with three All Freshman selections and it marks the first time since 2003 that Wake Forest has placed athletes on that squad.

Remy, who was an All Freshman honoree in 2003, was named to the first team All-ACC for the first time in her career. She becomes just the seventh women's soccer player to earn first team honors and the first since 2001. Remy has played and started in 17 games this season and currently leads the Demon Deacons with eight goals. She has also added four assists, for 20 points.

Hanley, a defender from Hickory, N.C., earns second team honors for the first time in her career. From her defensive position, she has scored one goal and added one assist. Hanley has also been an instrumental part of the Deacon backfield that owns a 0.83 goals against average this season.

In her first season, Sadow leads the rookie class with six goals and three assists. In three of the first four games of the year, she added either an assist or a goal, including a pair of scores against Wyoming.

Fountain, a native of Austin, Texas, has scored two goals and two assists. In the regular season finale against Duke, she assisted Amy Smerdzinski on the game-winning goal that helped lead the Demon Deacons past the Blue Devils for the first time since 1998.

Winslow closed the regular season with five goals, with four of them coming against ACC opponents. During the month of September, Winslow went on a hot streak, scoring in three consecutive games, including the Virginia and Virginia Tech games.

The Demon Deacons will enter the 2006 ACC Championship as the third seed and will face sixth-seeded Virginia in the first round on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 8 p.m.
