No. 7 Wake Forest Hosts ACC Rival Boston College

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - No. 7 Demon Deacons vs. Boston College
The Wake Forest men's soccer team will look to make it four wins in a row when it hosts ACC rival Boston College Friday evening at Spry Stadium. The Demon Deacons are coming off a 2-0 shutout at Clemson on Tuesday and are seeking their third conference victory of the season. Boston College comes to town following a 2-1 non-conference loss at Brown on Tuesday.

A Win This Evening Would... improve the Demon Deacons to 11-2 overall and 3-2 in the ACC ... give the Deacs' a four-game winning streak for the second time this fall ... give Wake Forest a 5-2 record at home in 2006 ... make the Deacons 5-0 against unranked opponents this season ... improve the Deacs' record against Boston College to 2-0-1 ... give head coach Jay Vidovich his 159th career victory.

A Loss This Evening Would... drop the Demon Deacons to 10-3 overall and 2-3 in the ACC ... snap Wake's three-game winning streak ... make the Deacons 4-1 against unranked opponents this fall ... drop Wake Forest to 1-1-1 all-time against Boston College ... deny head coach Jay Vidovich his 159th career victory.

Wake Forest Trends
- Seniors Steven Curfman and Wells Thompson are tied for the team lead with 11 points. Curfman has scored three goals and dished out a team-best five assists. Thompson has scored a team-leading five goals to go along with one assist.
- After not recording a single goal or assist last fall, sophomore Marcus Tracy is third on the team with nine points in 2006. He is also second on the team with four goals this season.
- Sophomore Michael Lahoud is second on the team with four assists after recording another last Friday against Coastal Carolina. Lahoud is also fourth on the squad in total points with eight.
- Wake Forest has out-shot its opponents 177-106, including a 93-64 second-half margin. As a result, the Deacs have out-scored the opposition 28-11 overall and 16-7 in the second half. The Demon Deacons have taken 6 more corner kicks than their opponents at 60-54.
- Redshirt junior Brian Edwards upped his own school record for career shutouts to 25 on Tuesday at Clemson. Edwards has started all of the Deacons last 55 matches and has seven shutouts this season. Edwards enters Friday's contest with a 0.91 goals-against-average.
- Wake Forest had nine different players score its first nine goals this season. The Demon Deacons currently have 12 different players with goals this season, eclipsing the total number of all of the 2005 season.

Scouting Boston College
The Eagles ar coming off a 2-1 loss at Brown on Tuesday. Prior to the loss, BC had won three of its previous four matches. The Eagles have suffered two overtime losses this year. Charlie Davies leads Boston College with 29 points on 12 goals and five assists. Reuban Ayarna, who is second on the team with eight points, is BC's assist leader with six. Shane Boggis, Chris Brown and Isaac Maholo have shared time in goal this fall. Boggis leads the trio with a 1.06 GAA and one shutout.

Next Up
The Demon Deacons will hit the road for a non-conference match with Connecticut on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m. Next Friday, Wake Forest will travel to Chapel Hill for a 7 p.m. match with the Tar Heels.
