It looked as if Wake Forest might tie the match up late in game two, but Florida State rallied for a 30-28 win. The Deacons used a 10-4 run to erase a 20-15 deficit and take their first lead of the match.
However, FSU responded with four straight points to take a 28-25. The Deacs pulled to within 29-28, but a kill from Jessica Skower put the game away for the Seminoles.
With the momentum in their favor, the `Noles rolled to a game-three victory. Florida State used a 12-3 run to erase a 5-4 deficit and open up a 16-8 margin.
Wake Forest followed with four straight to pull with 16-12, but that was as close as the Deacons would get as FSU came away with a 30-18 win. Florida State hit .412 with 17 kills and three errors in the game.
The victory was Florida State's first in Winston-Salem since 2002. The Seminoles swept the season series for the first time since that same season.
