For Starters...
Wake Forest had two first-time defensive starters on the defensive line. Sophomore DE Anthony Davis started in place of Jeremy Thompson (shoulder strain). Redshirt freshman DT Boo Robinson started in place of junior Zach Stukes (coaches' decision).

Scoring First...
Maryland scored on their opening drive to establish a 7-0 lead. The Deacons entered the game 1-2 when giving up the game's first points (winning against Duke, losing against Clemson and Virginia Tech -- all home games).

Harris Gets Into the Endzone...
Kevin Harris' two-yard plunge was his fifth touchdown of the season, but his first since the NC State game on Oct. 21. Harris suffered an MCL injury the following week against North Carolina and a concussion last week against Virginia Tech. The touchdown run was just the sixth carry for Harris since the NC State game.

Swanson Intercepts Hollenbach...
Senior CB Riley Swanson's first quarter interception was his third of the season. The Deacons have intercepted a pass in 10 straight games for a total of 20 this year.

Skinner Throws First Road Interception...
Freshman QB Riley Skinner threw an interception in the first quarter. It was his first interception on the road this season and broke a streak of 55 passes without a pick, dating back to the Boston College game on Nov. 4.

Fourth Down Conversions...
On the final play of the first quarter, the Deacons went for it on fourth-and-one from the Maryland 29 yardline. Sophomore FB Rich Belton burrowed for four yards to pick up the first down. Wake Forest went on to score on the drive. At the time, Wake Forest was only 1-of-2 on fourth down attempts -- both coming last week against Virginia Tech.

Deacons Outrush Themselves...
Wake Forest had 70 rushing yards in the first quarter tonight compared to 62 rushing yards the entire Virginia Tech game.

Tied After One...
The Deacons and Terrapins were tied after one quarter. The Deacons entered the game 2-0 when tied after one quarter (Syracuse and North Carolina).

Moore Scores 19-Yard Run...
Junior Kenneth Moore scored on a 19-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter. It was his second rushing touchdown of the year, third overall. Moore was aided by a key block on the outside by QB Riley Skinner.

Smith Gets Second Quarter Interception...
Sophomore CB Alphonso Smith stepped in front of Sam Hollenbach pass early in the second quarter to end a Terrapin drive in the red zone. It was Smith's second interception of the season, the other coming at Florida State. The Deacons entered the game ranked second in the ACC in red zone defense. The last Deacon player to intercept two passes in one game was Jon Abbate against Clemson in 2005.

Smith Gets Second Second Quarter Interception...
On the very next drive, Smith pulled the ball away from a Maryland receiver for his second interception of the quarter and, third of the season and the sixth of his career. It was the 20th interception of the season for the Deacons.

Skinner To Idlette For 49-Yard Touchdown...
On the next play, freshman QB Riley Skinner hit senior WR Willie Idlette for a 49-yard touchdown. It was the sixth one-play touchdown drive of the season for the Deacons, the 13th scoring drive of two minutes or less and the 14th scoring drive of five plays or less.

Leading At The Half...
Wake Forest led at halftime, 21-14. The Deacons entered the game with a 6-1 record when leading at the half, 25-10 in the Jim Grobe era.

Moore Rushes For Career-High...
Junior WR-turned-RB Kenneth Moore set a new career-high for rushing yards. He carried 27 times for 165 yards and a touchdown. Moore became the third Deacon rusher to gain 100 yards in a game. Micah Andrews rushed for 142 against Syracuse in the opener. De'Angelo Bryant carried for 105 yards at Ole Miss. Moore is the seventh player in the Jim Grobe era to rush for 100 yards, joining Andrews, Chris Barclay, Bryant, Cory Randolph, Fred Staton and Tarence Williams.

Harris Scores Again...
Kevin Harris' three-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter was his second of the game. It was his sixth of the year, tying the Wake Forest redshirt freshman record for rushing touchdowns. The mark was set by Micah Andrews in 2004.

Swank Converts From 36...
Sophomore PK Sam Swank hit a 36-yarder last in the third quarter. Swank improved to 9-of-11 from inside 40 yards this season, 18-of-24 overall.

Leading After Three...
The Deacons led 31-17 after three quarters. Wake Forest entered the game 7-1 when leading entering the fourth quarter. and 27-8 in the Grobe era.

Thompson Re-Injures Shoulder...
Junior DE Jeremy Thompson left the game and did not return with a shoulder injury.

Belton Plows Into Endzone ...
Sophomore FB Rich Belton burrowed into the endzone on fourth-and-goal from the one yardline on second effort. It capped a 10-play, 76-yard drive to give the Deacons a 38-24 lead and keep the Terps at arm's reach. For Belton, it was his third rushing touchdown of the game. He was also the third player to rush for a touchdown tonight vs. Maryland.

Season-High For Points...
Wake Forest's 38 points were a season-high and the most since the Deacons scored 44 vs. Duke last season.

Curry Sets New Career-High For Tackles...
Sophomore LB Aaron Curry finished with a career-high 10 tackles. Earlier this year, Curry had nine against Clemson and NC State.
