Remy Named Soccer Buzz Third Team All-American

Wake Forest senior forward Elizabeth Remy was named a third-team All-American by Soccer Buzz and heads a list of several Demon Deacons recently honored by the online magazine.
Remy, a native of Norman, Okla., led the Deacons with 23 points on the season. The first team All-ACC selection was first on the team in both goals (9) and assists (5). Five of her nine goals were game-winning strikes.
Additionally, defender Kaley Fountain was named a first team freshman All-American and forward Allie Sadow was named to the second team. Fountain had two goals and two assists on the year while Sadow was second on the Deacon squad with 16 points (six goals, four assists).
In addition to the All-America awards handed out by the organization, several Deacons garnered all-region honors as well. Remy was named to the All-Southeast region first team while Fountain and junior midfielder Kristina Hanley were named to the second team. Sadow and sophomore midfielder Amy Smerdzinski were named to the region's third team. Representing the Deacs on the region's all-freshman team were Fountain and Sadow.
