WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) - L.D. Williams scored a career-high 16 points as Wake Forest overcame its lowest-scoring half of the season to beat Richmond 72-59 on Friday night.
Williams scored 14 points in the second half as the Demon Deacons (7-4) rallied from a 13-point halftime deficit to win their second straight game.
Kyle Visser added 17 points and Ish Smith 13 for Wake Forest, which led by as many as seven points early in the first half before going cold, hitting just 1-of-10 from the field in the last 12:33.
Dan Geriot came off the bench to score 21 points for the Spiders (4-6), including 13 in the first half as Richmond took advantage of the Demon Deacons' shooting problems to lead 35-22 at the break.
But Wake Forest shot 62.5 percent in the second half and turned 14 Spiders turnovers into 28 points.
Visser scored 10 straight points in a 19-8 run that cut Richmond's lead to 43-41 with 13:51 left, then Williams nailed a 3-pointer that gave the Demon Deacons their first lead since midway through the first half.
Geriot responded with a layup to put the Spiders back on top, but Williams then followed his own miss for a layup to put Wake Forest in the lead for good.
The Demon Deacons put the game away in the closing minutes of the second half, using a 13-1 run to pull ahead 68-50 with 2:25 remaining for their biggest lead of the game.
