WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) _ Sharnee Zoll scored a career-high 24 points on Saturday as Virginia won its sixth straight game over Wake Forest, beating the Demon Deacons 81-70.
Tiffany Sardin scored 15 points and Siedah Williams added 11 for the Cavaliers (15-10, 3-9 Atlantic Coast Conference).
Liz Strunk had a season-high 26 points, Deirdre Naughton scored 20 and Corinne Groves had 11 for the Demon Deacons (11-13, 3-9), who have only beaten Virginia twice in 59 meetings since 1976.
Strunk hit a 3-pointer in the opening seconds of the second half to tie the game at 36, but Williams responded with a layup to put Virginia back ahead and start a 19-8 run that pushed the Cavaliers' lead back into double figures.
Virginia led by as many as 15 points four times in the second half, the last coming when Zoll hit a short jumper with 4:55 left to put the Cavaliers up 70-55.
Zoll, whose previous best was 20 points, scored 17 points in the second half.
Wake Forest's Corinne Bond-Young, the ACC's third-leading scorer at 17.4 points per game, scored just seven against the Cavaliers.
Virginia held Wake Forest to just 6-of-18 shooting from 3-point range, six days after the Demon Deacons set a league record with 16 3-pointers in a 82-70 win against Clemson.
