Christian Tara Named ITA All-American Scholar Athlete

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest women's tennis player Christian Tara was named an ITA All-American Scholar Athlete, as announced by the organization Thursday. Earlier in the year, Tara was named to the 2006 All-ACC academic women's tennis team.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a varsity letter and have a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
Tara led the Demon Deacons academically with a 3.77 spring grade point average. Overall in her freshman year, Tara earned a 3.929 gpa.
On the court, Tara played primarily in the No. 4 position for Wake Forest and compiled a team-best 25-9 record in 2006. Also leading the Deacs in ACC victories, Tara finished the conference season with a 9-2 mark.
