Wake Forest Volleyball Opens Preseason Workouts

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest volleyball team opened its preseason camp over the weekend in preparation for the upcoming 2006 season.
The Demon Deacons held their first official practice on Friday evening and then began two-a-day workouts on Saturday.
Second-year head coach Heather Kahl Holmes welcomed into camp 16 players, 10 of which are returning from last year's squad that went 17-14 overall and 10-12 in the ACC.
Wake's preseason will culminate with the Black & Gold Scrimmage on Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. Admission is free, and the public is invited to come out to Reynolds Gym and see what the Deacs have in store for this fall.
Wake Forest will open its 2006 regular season Sept. 1-2 at the Colorado State Coors Invitational. The Demon Deacons will take on host Colorado State on Friday and then face James Madison and Florida Atlantic on Saturday.
The Deacs will play their home opener on Friday, Sept. 15, against George Washington at 7 p.m. in the Black & Gold Challenge.
