
Wells Thompson Named Premier Development League All-Southern Conference

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Senior Wells Thompson was named to the 2006 Premier Development All-Southern Conference Team as announced by the United Soccer League. The honor recognizes 11 of the best players in each of the four PDL divisions as voted on by team coaches and general managers.
Thompson helped lead Carolina to an undefeated regular season (14-0-2) and league championship. He started 15 games for the Dynamo and scored two goals.
The Dynamo recorded their first undefeated regular season and set records for the longest single-season winning streak, longest single-season home winning streak, longest single-season road winning streak and eclipsed the Macpherson Stadium attendance record.
The Deacs will open its exhibition schedule on August 15 at UNC Wilmington. After a home exhibition match with Furman on August 19, the regular season begins with the Wake Forest adidas Classic at Spry Stadium, a round-robin event that features North Carolina, UCF and William & Mary.
