WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 16 Wake Forest men's soccer team will conclude its exhibition season Saturday night with a match against Furman. Kickoff with the Paladins is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Spry Stadium.

The Demon Deacons were victorious in their exhibition opener earlier this week against UNC Wilmington. Wake Forest used goals from freshman Austin da Luz, sophomore Jamie Franks and sophomore Marcus Tracy en route to a 3-0 triumph.

Furman was scheduled to open its exhibition season this past Tuesday as well, but the match with Georgia State was postponed due to heavy rains and unplayable field conditions.

Wake Forest and the Paladins faced off during the exhibition season a year ago. The Deacons blanked Furman, 2-0, in Greenville on Aug. 27. Senior Mark Ellington and Tracy provided all the scoring Wake Forest would need, while redshirt junior Brian Edwards made five saves in the win.

The Deacons will open the 2006 regular season with the Wake Forest adidas Classic at Spry Stadium, a round-robin event that features No. 1 North Carolina, UCF and William & Mary.

Sunday, August 27
