Demon Deacons Travel to NC State on Saturday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest volleyball team returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Raleigh to take on NC State at 6 p.m.
The Demon Deacons are coming off a four-game win at North Carolina on Tuesday. Wake Forest is 6-6 overall and 2-1 in the ACC this season.
Redshirt sophomore Natalie Mullikin had her best hitting game of the season on Tuesday, hitting .533 with 17 kills and just one error in 30 attempts.
Senior Natasha Schaefer also had her best performance of the season-to-date, recording 17 digs from the libero position.
Redshirt sophomore Jessica Furlong leads the team with 163 kills (3.54 kpg), while Mullikin is second with 140 (3.04 kpg). Furlong also leads the Deacons in digs with 129 (2.80 dpg), and Mullikin is atop the blocking list with 45 total blocks on the year.
Freshman setter Dylan Faulkner has dished out 522 assists this fall, an average of 11.35 per game.
The Deacs will be looking for their third conference win of the season against a Wolfpack squad that is 2-11 overall and 0-4 in the league.
NC State is coming off a three-game setback to Duke on Tuesday. NC State has lost six straight and seven of eight matches.
Saturday's match will be the 38th all-time meeting between the two schools. NC State holds a slim 19-18 advantage in the series but has lost 15 straight to Wake Forest, dating back to 1998. During that stretch, the Wolfpack has won just five games in the 15 total matches.
The Demon Deacons will return home the following weekend to host Virginia Tech and Virginia. Wake will take on the Hokies on Friday at 7 p.m. and then the Cavaliers Saturday at 6 p.m.
