Field Hockey Takes On Appalachian State Wednesday in Kentner Stadium

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The fourth-ranked Wake Forest field hockey team will host Appalachian State on Wednesday in a 7 p.m. game at Kentner Stadium. The Demon Deacons hold a 6-4 overall record after splitting over the weekend, while the Mountaineers are 2-8 overall.

Last Time Out... The Deacs dropped a 5-0 decision to No. 1 North Carolina in a tough ACC match on Saturday, but rebounded with a 2-0 win over then-No. 5 Michigan State. Michelle Kasold scored late in the first half and Chelsea Cipriani added an insurance goal as regulation ended.

About ASU The Mountaineers have faced a tough schedule and hold a 2-8 overall record. Appalachian State is coming off of their fourth straight NorPac loss - most recently a 3-0 loss to Radford at home. Forward Nicole Morgan leads the team with three goals and two assists for eight points.

The Deacs lead the all-time series 26-16-1 and have won the last 17 meetings since 1992. Last season, Wake shut out the Mountaineers 9-0 at home.

Next Up... Wake Forest is back on the road with a three-game road swing in California where it will face Cal on Friday, Oct. 12 in Berkeley before traveling to Stanford to face Pacific on Oct. 14 and the Cardinal on Oct. 15.
