Aaron Curry Picks Two
- Aaron Curry returned an interception 77 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter. It was his second interception return for a touchdown this year.
- It marked Wake Forest's fifth interception return for a touchdown this season.
- Curry also intercepted a pass on UNC's first offensive play of the game. It marked the second time this season (the other was Sept. 1 at Boston College) where Wake Forest recorded an interception on the opponent's first play of the game.
- Curry now has four career interceptions and three this season.
- Curry finished the game with a team-high nine tackles.
Sam Swank Sets Wake Forest Career Scoring Mark
- The redshirt junior placekicker set the school record for points scored in a career.
- His 23-yard field goal with 13:12 to play in the first quarter gave him 241 points, one more than previous record-holder Chris Barclay (2002-05) who scored 240 career points.
- Swank would add field goals of 22 yards and 46 yards in the third quarter.
- Swank increased his career scoring total to 251 points with 13 against the Tar Heels.
- With three field goals, Swank increased his school record for field goals in a career to 53.
- Swank also had a season-long 66-yard punt in the fourth quarter.
Kevin Marion Nearly Returns Two Kickoffs For Touchdowns
- Kevin Marion returned his first kickoff return of the afternoon 98 yards for a touchdown. The return ties the BB&T Field record (Myles Savage, 10/18/97 vs. Maryland) and was the second-longest in school history (99 yards by John Stone 11/13/99 at Duke).
- The return was Marion's career-best and his first KOR for a touchdown in his career. It was the sixth total touchdown of his career.
- Marion's second return was for 83 yards and set up a 14-yard scoring run by Josh Adams. Marion was tripped up at the last instance on the second return by UNC's Matt Merletti.
- Marion had two kickoff returns for 181 yards. The school record for return yards in a game is 195 by Anthony Williams at Maryland in 1990.
Josh Adams Finds Paydirt Twice
- Josh Adams' six-yard touchdown run with 5:00 to play in the first quarter was his fifth rushing touchdown of the season and his sixth overall touchdown.
- Adams added a 14-yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter, giving him seven total touchdowns for the season.
- His two touchdown runs gave Adams six rushing touchdowns this season and seven total touchdowns.
- Adams has set school records for the most touchdowns and the most rushing touchdowns by a redshirt freshman.
Non-Offensive Touchdowns
- Wake Forest added to its ACC-leading non-offensive touchdown total. The Deacs now have nine on the season after Kevin Marion's 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and Aaron Curry's 77-yard interception return.
Success Against In-State Opponents
- Wake Forest is now 21-5 against in-state opponents during the Jim Grobe Era. The Deacons have won seven straight games against in-state competition.
- Grobe is now 4-2 against UNC at Wake Forest and 4-3 for his career.
