Men's Tennis in Action at All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. - The Wake Forest men's tennis team kicked off competition at the 2007 Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships in Tulsa, Okla. Junior Cory Parr picked up a first-round victory in the main draw, while sophomore Steven Forman fared well in the qualifying singles draw.
Parr won a three-set match over Kentucky's Bruno Agostinelli. The Jericho, N.Y. native took the first set 6-3, but fell 7-5 in the second to force a third set. Parr advanced to the second round with a 6-4 third-set victory. In today's second round match, Parr fell to TCU's Cosmin Cotet 6-1, 6-3. Cotet upset second-seeded Steven Moneke of Ohio State in the first round by the same score.
In the qualifying singles draw, Forman defeated fourth-seeded Thomas Richter of Indiana 6-3, 6-4, but fell to Duke's Reid Carleton, 7-5, 6-2 in the second round. Senior Mariusz Adamski fell to Arizona's Claudio Christen in a hard-fought three-set match, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 (3) in the first round of the qualifying draw.
In doubles, Adamski and Parr teamed up and just missed upsetting the 5-8 seed of Brandon Davis and Ryan Rowe of Illinois, 9-8 (3). The Deacon duo will compete in the doubles consolation draw and will face Dalibor Pavic and Maor Zirkin of Drake on Friday at 1 p.m.
