With the loss...
- Wake Forest drops its second straight game and falls to 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the ACC.
- The Demon Deacons fall to 16-56-1 all-time against Clemson.
- The Deacs are 7-28 all-time at Clemson's Memorial Stadium with four straight losses at the venue.
- Head Coach Jim Grobe moves to 43-39 in his seventh season at Wake Forest and 76-72-1 in his 13th season overall as a head coach.
- Grobe falls to 2-5 all-time against Clemson and 23-32 in ACC play with Wake Forest.
Miscellaneous Notes
- Wake Forest's captains were Micah Andrews, De'Angelo Bryant, Louis Frazier and Delon Lowe.
- The Deacons are 0-2 when winning the coin toss this season.
- The 34-point loss was Wake's worst since falling 52-7 at Miami (#12) on Nov. 20, 2004.
- Wake went its second straight game without scoring a non-offensive touchdown. The Deacons came into Saturday tied with Hawaii for the national lead at nine.
- Since the start of the 2006 season, Wake Forest is now 17-7. Four of the seven losses have come against ranked opponents, including No. 20 Clemson today.
- Riley Skinner completed 20 or more passes for the sixth time this season. Skinner completed 21 of 30 passes for 170 yards.
- Kenneth Moore's 55-yard punt return tied his career-long.
- Tight end Ben Wooster made his first career catch late in the fourth quarter.
- Mark Bucholtz's 48-yard field goal was the longest by an opponent this season.
- Clemson is the first opponent since Duke (Oct. 6) to score on its opening drive.
Josh Adams' First-Quarter Touchdown Run
- Tailback Josh Adams scored his eighth touchdown of the season on a two-yard run in the first quarter. The score was Adams' seventh rushing touchdown of the season, giving him sole possession of Wake Forest's redshirt freshman record.
- Adams also had a season-best seven receptions.
Sacks Allowed
- Clemson registered five sacks on the day, which was a season-high allowed by Wake Forest. Four of the Tigers' sacks came in the first half.
Swank's 52-Yard Field Goal
- Sam Swank hit a 52-yard field goal midway through the third quarter. It was Swank's second field goal from 50+ yards this season and the ninth of his career.
- The 52-yarder was one yard shy of his career record of 53 set twice against NC State in 2006.
- On the year, Swank is 15-of-18 on field goal tries and 2-of-3 from 50+ yards.
Clemson's Kickoff Return for Touchdown
- C.J. Spiller's 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the third quarter was the first time a Wake Forest opponent has returned a kickoff since 2002. The last player to do so was Northern Illinois' Michael Turner who ran a kick back 93 yards for a touchdown on Aug. 29, 2002.
