CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Wake Forest women's soccer team will kick off the 2007 NCAA Tournament with Boston University at ACC host school Boston College on Friday at 4 p.m.
The first round winner will advance to face the winner of the Boston College/Connecticut match up on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Boston University Terriers (11-6-3) wrapped up conference play over the weekend with the America East title after picking up two first half goals over New Hampshire at the championship in Durham, N.H. Marisha Schumacher-Hodge, the 2006 America East's Midfielder of the Year, is the leading Terrier scorer with four goals and six assists in 2007.
After earning a No. 2-seed, the Deacons (12-6-3) defeated No. 7-seed Duke with an overtime goal in the first round of the ACC Tournament last Wednesday but fell to third-seeded Florida State 5-2 on Friday.
Friday's match will be the first ever meeting for Terriers and the Deacons. The only Atlantic Coast Conference contest for the Terriers this year ended in a 1-0 loss to Boston College on September 12.
The Demon Deacons have only faced Connecticut one time in program history. On September 23, 2003 the two teams battled through 110 minutes to a scoreless draw on the Husky home field. Earlier this season the Deacons gave up a 2-1 loss to Boston College in Chestnut Hill, but still lead the all-time series 2-1.
