COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Wake Forest field hockey team (16-5) is headed to College Park, Md. for its eighth consecutive trip to the NCAA Final Four on Friday.

The Demon Deacons will face Penn State (15-7) in the semifinals at 7:30 p.m. The Nittany Lions shook up the brackets last Sunday when they upset No. 2-seed Maryland 1-0 in the second round of the tournament.

Wake Forest notched two first round wins in Ann Arbor last weekend, the first over Michigan State and the second over host school Michigan.

"We have another task ahead of us with hopefully two very, very strong opponents," WFU head coach Jen Averill said. "All we have right now is Penn State, I would love to just play on Sunday and I don't care who, but right now all we have is Penn State and that's first and foremost in our minds."

Friday's winner will move to the finals to face the winner of the No. 1-seed North Carolina/No. 4-seed Connecticut match-up. The NCAA finals will be held on Sunday, November 18 at 12 p.m.
