Kenneth Moore Sets Season Receptions Mark
- Wide receiver Kenneth Moore set the school record for receptions in a season. He caught eight passes vs. NC State to give him 78 on the season, breaking the previous mark of 72 set by Desmond Clark in 1997. Moore's catch with 4:07 to play in the first quarter set the record.
Deacons Get 10th Non-Offensive Score of the Season
- Aaron Curry's fourth-quarter interception return for a touchdown was Wake's 10th non-offensive touchdown of the season. The Deacons are one shy of the ACC record set by Georgia Tech in 1998.
- Six of Wake Forest's non-offensive scores have come on interception returns.
- Curry has returned three interceptions for touchdowns this season which ties the NCAA season record for a linebacker. Curry is tied with Pittsburgh's Malcolm Postell who returned three for scores in 2004. Curry and Alphonso Smith are each one shy of the NCAA record, which was set by California's Deltha O'Neal in 1999.
Wake Takes Tobacco Road Series...Again
- With today's win over NC State, Wake Forest has won the Tobacco Road Series for the second straight year by sweeping all three North Carolina ACC opponents.
- It is the first time in school history the Deacs have swept all three opponents in consecutive seasons.
- Wake has swept its Tobacco Road rivals six times (1924, 1951, 1970, 1984, 1987, 2006, 2007).
Alphonso Smith Picks Up Two Picks
- Cornerback Alphonso Smith had the first two-interception game of his career. Smith now has six picks on the season, three of which have been returned for touchdowns.
- Smith has 165 interception return yards this year, putting him within 35 of the ACC record of 200 set by Georgia Tech's Ken Swilling in 1989.
Skinner Gets 200 Yards Passing
- Quarterback Riley Skinner completed 20 of 29 passes for 208 yards. It was the sixth time this season Skinner has eclipsed the 200-yard mark passing.
- Skinner's 62-yard touchdown pass to Jordan Williams was the Deacons' longest pass play of the year.
- Skinner had the wind knocked out of him on a rush late in the first quarter and left the game for three plays. Brett Hodges replaced him at quarterback.
De'Angelo Bryant Scores Two Touchdowns
- Senior fullback De'Angelo Bryant scored two touchdowns in a game for the first time in his career.
- Bryant's second-quarter touchdown reception was the first of his career.
Wake Forest Sets Season Attendance Record
- Wake Forest's attendance of 33,052 today gives the Deacons a season total of 195,570. That is the second-highest season attendance in school history. The record is 197,911 set in 2003. Wake finishes with a season average attendance of 32,595 which is a school record, eclipsing last year's average attendance mark of 32,519.
Miscellaneous Notes
- Wake Forest's captains were Nick Jarvis, Zac Selmon and Jeremy Thompson.
- Josh Adams' first-quarter fumble was Wake Forest's first lost fumble since the Florida State game on Oct. 11.
- Demir Boldin carried the ball from scrimmage for the first time this season.
- With his first-quarter score, Josh Adams extended his school record for touchdowns by a redshirt freshman to nine.
- Wide receiver Jordan Williams' 62-yard touchdown catch with 1:27 to play in the third quarter was his first career TD reception.
- Sam Swank has kicked a field goal in eight straight games this season. Swank has converted 99 straight PATs.
- Wake Forest won for the first time this season after winning the coin toss (had been 0-2 when winning the toss).
With the win...
- Wake Forest improves to 7-4 overall and finishes the ACC season with a 5-3 record.
- The 5-3 ACC record gives Wake back-to-back winning conference records for the first time since 1987 (4-3) and 1988 (4-3).
- Jim Grobe's record at Wake Forest improves to 44-39 overall and 24-32 in the ACC. Grobe is now 77-72-1 in his 13th season as a head coach.
- Jim Grobe is 22-5 against in-state competition at Wake Forest.
- Wake Forest completed a 5-1 record at home this season.
- Wake Forest ended its two-game losing streak.
- The Deacons have won seven or more games for the 11th time in school history.
