WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Sophomore Natalie Mullikin was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Volleyball team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Mullikin, a health and exercise science major, is a two-time All-ACC Academic honoree after earning the award as a redshirt freshman in 2005. She is one of 11 players on the 32-person squad to receive the award in multiple seasons.

The Lebanon, Ind. native was also named second team All-ACC last fall. She is one of 10 players to receive both awards this season.

Mullikin finished 2006 as Wake Forest's single-season record holder in total blocks, block solos and blocks per game. She ended the year with 153 total blocks, including 49 block solos, for an average of 1.29 per game. Mullikin led the team in all three categories in 2006.

The sophomore middle blocker ranked fifth in the ACC in blocks per game. Her 104 block assists put her third on the Demon Deacons' single-season list, just 10 behind junior Jackie Lucas who broke the all-time mark with 114.

Mullikin also finished the season as the team's hitting percentage leader at .281. She recorded 351 kills and 123 errors in 810 total attempts. Mullikin was second on the team with 2.95 kills per game.

Mullikin was named Preseason All-ACC in voting by the coaches prior to the season.

To be eligible for All-ACC Academic consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.

Wake Forest opens its spring schedule on March 24 at defending ACC champion Duke.
