INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The 27th nationally-ranked Wake Forest women's tennis doubles team of Ashlee Davis and Alexandra Hirsch received an at-large bid to the 2007 NCAA Individual Championships, released by the NCAA today.

The Demon Deacon duo is the first doubles team to be named to the tournament since 2005 when Hirsch teamed up with Karin Coetzee.

Davis and Hirsch teamed up midway through the season and played at the No. 1 position where they went 7-5. Before the duo earned a national ranking, Davis and Hirsch defeated 40th ranked Amanda Craddock and Alison Silverio of Georgia Tech and closed out the regular season with an 8-6 upset victory over fifth-ranked Melissa Mang and Daniela Bercek of Duke.

The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 23-28 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga., following the conclusion of the team championship (May 18-22). The University of Georgia will serve as host.

Wake Forest (14-7) faces Pennsylvania (17-4) in the NCAA tournament's first round. First serve is slated for noon on Friday, May 11 at William & Mary, which will serve as one of 16 regional hosts for the first and second rounds.
