
Wake Forest Baseball Summer League Update

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Highlighted by Ryan Semeniuk's Valley League All-Star Game start, several Demon Deacons are turning in solid campaigns for their respective summer league teams. Below is a league-by-league update on the Wake Forest baseball players in action across the country.
Valley Baseball League
- Ryan Semeniuk has had arguably the best season so far of all the Deacons playing summer ball. Through 26 games with the Winchester Royals, Semeniuk is hitting .367 with two homers and 20 RBIs. He is slugging .557 and has stolen three bases in five attempts. Semeniuk ranks in the top five in the league in hitting and slugging percentage. Semeniuk was rewarded for his stellar first half with a start in right field for the Valley League North All-Stars on July 8. Semeniuk went 0-for-2 in the game but helped his squad to a 2-0 shutout of the South All-Stars.
- Nathan Frazier has played in and started 26 games for the Woodstock River Bandits. Frazier has hit .204 with five RBIs, but he has made his presence known on the base paths. Frazier has stolen 12 bases in 17 attempts, ranking him among the league leaders.
- Michael Murray has played in 16 games for the league-leading Waynesboro Generals. Murray is hitting .214 with seven RBIs.
Cape Cod Baseball League
- Allan Dykstra is turning in another solid summer in the prestigious Cape Cod League. Through 23 games with the Chatham A's, Dykstra is hitting .289 with one home run and a team-best 14 RBIs. His .433 on-base percentage ranks in the top five in the league.
- Brad Kledzik has made four starts on the mound for the Brewster Whitecaps. Kledzik is 1-2 with a 4.56 ERA in 23 2/3 innings pitched. Kledzik has pitched the third-most innings on the team.
Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League
- Joel Ernst has been stellar on the mound for the Stark County Terriers. Ernst has pitched in six games, making two starts. The Loveland, Ohio, native is 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA in 15 innings pitched. Ernst has struck out 12 batters and has given up just three earned runs on the season.
Texas Collegiate League
- Dustin Hood has hit well this summer, playing for the McKinney Marshals in his home state of Texas. In 13 games with the Marshals, Hood is hitting .310 with seven RBIs. Hood is playing shortstop for the division-leading McKinney squad.
New England Collegiate Baseball League
- Phil Negus has been a workhorse out of the bullpen for the Sanford Mainers. Negus has made a team-high 11 appearances, all in relief. The righthander is 1-2 with a 3.92 ERA and two saves in 20 2/3 innings pitched. Opponents are hitting just .188 against Negus.
- Eric Williams and Weldon Woodall are both playing for the Danbury Westerners this summer. Williams has hit .238 with five RBIs in 12 games, while Woodall has hit .137 with three RBIs in 18 games.
Coastal Plain League
- Ryan Bouton and Austin Jones have spent the summer with the Thomasville Hi-Toms. Bouton played in 14 games with the Hi-Toms and hit .200 with four RBIs. Jones has saw action in 23 games, making 20 starts. The catcher is hitting .183 with a homer and four RBIs. Thomasville is 25-11 overall this summer.
