WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The fifth-ranked Wake Forest field hockey team travels to College Park to take on second-ranked and defending national champion Maryland in an Atlantic Coast Conference game on Saturday at 1 p.m.

The last time the two perennial powerhouses met was last November in the NCAA Championship. The Terps avenged its 1-0 loss in the ACC title game against Wake with a 1-0 victory of their own for the NCAA crown. During the regular season, Maryland defeated the Deacs 3-2.

Wake holds a 5-2 record heading into Saturday's game, while Maryland is undefeated with an 8-0 record. The Deacs are coming off a strong week in which they went 3-0, defeating Radford at home, 6-1; No. 12 Ohio, 2-1 and Indiana, 2-1, in Bloomington.

Chelsea Cipriani leads the team with 10 points (four goals and 2 assists), while Kim Romansky, who scored both goals for the Deacs against Ohio, adds three goals and one assist on the season.

Freshman forward Katie O'Donnell leads Maryland with nine goals and 11 assists for 29 points.

Maryland leads the all-time series 18-10. The Deacs have won seven of the last 10 meetings with the Terps.
