Wake Forest in Overtime
- Wake posted its first-ever overtime win. The Deacons came in 0-4 all-time in overtime games. Maryland entered the game 3-2 in overtime games.

- Sept. 4, 2004 - L 37-30 at Clemson (2 OTs)

Wake Forest in Comeback Victories
- After overcoming a 21-point deficit (24-3), the Deacons earned their second-greatest comeback victory since 1955. In Wake's largest comeback win ever, the Deacs trailed North Carolina 24-0 on Nov. 10, 2001 and rallied for a 32-31 win.
- Wake Forest's 14-point halftime deficit (17-3) was its greatest since trailing Miami 34-17 in Winston-Salem on Nov. 12, 2005.
Alphonso's Smith Interception Return
- Alphonso Smith's 100-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter was his second touchdown return of the year and third of his career. He had a 21-yard return at Boston College on Sept. 1, 2007 and a 23-yard return vs. N.C. State on Oct. 22, 2005.
- Smith's 100-yard return is a school record and ties the NCAA record. The previous longest interception return in school history was 90 yards by Tommy Whims vs. South Carolina on Sept. 24, 1955
- Smith became the sixth player in ACC history to return an interception 100 yards and the first since NC State's Marcus Hudson vs. Duke on Nov. 3, 2001.
- It was the longest interception return in BB&T Field history. The previous longest was 97 yards by Maryland's Bill McFadden on Oct. 17, 1981.
Wake Defense Holds Tight in Fourth
- The Deacon defense allowed just 29 yards in the fourth quarter. Maryland ran 14 plays in the quarter and got all of its yards on the ground. The Terps were 0-for-2 passing.
Fumble Recovery Sets Up Sam Swank's Field Goal
- Wake Forest's Sam Swank booted a 24-yard field goal for a 3-0 WFU lead. It marked Swank's second consecutive field goal of the year and his third consecutive successful field goal attempt dating back to the 2006 season.
- The field goal came as the result of a Maryland fumble that was recovered by Wake's Boo Robinson. It was Robinson's first fumble recovery of the season.
Hunter Haynes Collects Two Sacks
- Hunter Haynes collected two sacks in the game, the first sacks of his career.
- As a team, Wake Forest turned in six sacks, which was a season-high. Last year, the Deacons had five sacks in three different games.
- Stanley Arnoux also had 1.5 sacks for the Deacs.
Josh Adams Has Career Rushing Day
- Adams rushed for a season-best 95 yards on a season-high 20 carries. His previous high was 64 yards on nine carries against Army.
- Adams, a redshirt freshman, scored the second touchdown of his career in overtime.
Lattimore Rushes for 100 on the Deacs
- Maryland's Keon Lattimore rushed for 112 yards. He became the first to rush for 100 yards vs. Wake Forest since Georgia Tech's Tashard Choice carried 21 times for 100 yards in the ACC Championship game on Dec. 2, 2006.
Deacon Interceptions
- Wake Forest had intercepted two passes in each of its first three games but posted just one this afternoon.
