Deamon Deacons in the lead again! 11:30pm
This morning was not so bad. We got to sleep in a little till about 8:00am and when we left the hotel, the sun was up and it was about 56 degrees.
At 10:42am, Cheyenne lead us off today to a great start. We finished the first round leading by 6 shots with Natalie leading the field at even par. It was a rough day, with the wind playing almost a two club difference. We grinded our way through the 6 hour round and were extremely delighted to hear that all our hard work on the course paid off. We practiced a little after the round to fine tune some areas of our game then headed to dinner.
At the team meeting, we had a little pep-talk from coach about expecting the worse conditions tomorrow. It will be raining most of the day, windy and a little chilly. The important thing for us to remember tomorrow is to take our time on our shots and not to rush because we are eventually going to get wet and hurrying and getting frustrated will not get us anywhere. Stay calm, collected and cool is the key!

Back on the road with the lady Deacs. 11:30pm
It was 6:00am; the sun was not going to be up for at least another hour; Coach Dailey had not had her coffee yet, and with everyone still having at least one part of their body still asleep, we finally made it to the golf course after a couple of wrong turns.
As we stepped out of the club house with some food in our stomachs, we began to truly feel the freezing cold wind against our face and fingers. We piled ourselves back in the van and sat there in the parking lot with the van heat blasted to the very max.
We finally made it out of the van with just enough time to stretch and were on our way to our designated hole for our shot gun practice round. The golf course was in great conditions. The greens were rolling fast and smooth, and the fairways were neatly cut and trimmed. We managed to finish 18 holes just in time before they kicked us off the course for the sponsors-players tournament in the afternoon. Nannette was our representative for the afternoon. We worked on our games after the round while the coaches had a rules meeting and finally left the course at about three that afternoon to head back to the hotel to get some rest and work done.
At 6:30 that evening, we were all dressed and press for the official tournament banquet. Since this was a formal banquet, Coach Dailey was delighted we were able to practice the dining etiquettes we learned a week ago at the "Etiquette Awareness and Dining Skills Seminar," organized by Julie Griffin, Wake's CHAMPS/Life Skills Coordinator.
The banquet finally ended at 9:00pm and by the time we were done with our usual team meeting, it was 10:30 and time for bed. Our first tee time is at 10:30 am tomorrow. Remember to check us out with LIVE scoring on golf stat. More birdies less bogeys! And at the same time, stay warm!

Back on the road with the lady Deacs. 10:20pm
We're back! Three weekends passed since our last tournament. Finally all caught up with work and we're off again.
It was three weeks of work, work and more work. Papers, tests, presentations, assignments; yup, midterms at Wake Forest will take the most out of you. With all that going on, we managed to squeeze in a lot of good practices during that time off from tournaments and we're ready to go this weekend.
We left Wake Forest earlier today at 2:00pm and we were on our way to Wilmington. The golf center was crowded with golfers, since the men's team was leaving at the same time for Tennessee.
The four hour drive went by quickly with a quick restroom stop on the way. We arrived at the hotel at about 6:00pm and checked into our rooms. The hotel rooms were great and we had nice views overlooking the ocean. The current Wake Forest treasurer, Mr. Morrell and his wife invited us to dinner at the Boca Bay. The food was delicious and we had a great time chatting with them. We headed back to the hotel and after a little studying we hit the sack. We are schedule to be up at 5:30 tomorrow for our 7:30 practice round. It's going to be chilly!! So bundle up!!!
