WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Things are heating up at the Wake Forest University Indoor Center just in time for the cool weather hitting Winston-Salem this weekend. The doubles round of 16 and singles round of 32 will begin Saturday morning at the ITA Southeast Regional Tournament at the Indoor Tennis Center on the WFU campus.

In doubles, Clemson, Tennessee and North Carolina each boast three teams in Saturday's matches. The top seeds in the draw are still in competition, including No. 1 seed Caitlin Whoriskey/Zsofia Zubor of Tennessee, who topped USC Upstate's Anna Milinan/Paige Kenrue duo 8-3.

All the top-seeded competitors in singles will also return for the second round of play. North Carolina's No. 1 seed Sanaz Marand defeated Charlotte's Yudeshree Pillay 6-0, 4-6, 6-2, while Furman's two-seed Laura Gioia defeated Tennessee's Jennifer Meredith in a three-set battle.

The Demon Deacons had a rough day in doubles, dropping all three matches. In singles, Christian Tara, Sasha Kulikova and Sierra Poske will all continue on in the round of 32.
