
Black & Gold World Series Begins this Weekend

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest baseball team concludes its fall practice with the Black & Gold World Series, which begins this weekend. All five games in the series will be open to the public and admission to each game is free.
The series begins on Saturday at Hooks Stadium with first pitch scheduled for 1:30 p.m. (ET). Game two of the series will be held on Sunday, also beginning at 1:30 p.m. The third game of the series will take place at Ernie Shore Field on Wednesday, October 8, at a time to be announced. The series concludes with games on October 11 & 12. First pitch both days is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
The series consists of five seven-inning games. The eight seniors will serve as captains for the two teams. Dustin Hood, Weldon Woodall, Joel Ernst and Garrett Bullock will captain the Gold team, while Tyler Smith, Evan Ocheltree, Greg Young and Brad Kledzik will lead the Black team.
The Gold team has won the series the last two seasons. Last year, the Gold won the first four games of the series, including posting two shut out victories.

Game 1 - Saturday, October 4 at 1:30 p.m.
Game 2 - Sunday, October 5 at 1:30 p.m.
Game 3 - Wednesday, October 8 at TBD (Game played at Ernie Shore Field)
Game 4 - Saturday, October 11 at 1:30 p.m.
Game 5 - Sunday, October 12 at 1:30 p.m.
