Deacons Record Seven Wins for Third Straight Year
- For the first time in school history, Wake Forest has won seven or more games in three consecutive seasons.
- The Deacons were 11-3 in 2006 and 9-4 last year. Wake Forest is 7-5 this season.
- Wake Forest also clinched a winning season for the third straight year for the first time since 1950-52.
Smith Ties ACC Career Interception Record
- Senior cornerback Alphonso Smith tied the Atlantic Coast Conference career interception record with a pick late in the fourth quarter.
- Smith now has 20 interceptions in his career, equaling Dre' Bly, who also recorded 20 interceptions while at North Carolina.
- For the season, Smith has six interceptions.
Seniors Close Regular Season in Style
- Wake Forest's 16 seniors have accomplished a great deal in their four season.
- The seniors have compiled a record of 31-19, the most wins by any class in school history.
- The seniors have contributed to the 2006 ACC Championship and been to two bowl games with a third game a clear possibility.
- They have compiled an ACC record of 18-14.
- The senior class has gone 17-8 at home over their four years.
- The class was instrumental in Wake Forest being ranked for a school record nine straight weeks in 2006.
Swank Sets School PAT Record, Moves up in ACC Record Book
- Sam Swank's PAT with 10:39 to play in the second quarter was his 120th career PAT, breaking the school record of 119 previously held by Wilson Hoyle (1986-89)
- Sam Swank moved into second place by himself in ACC career field goals with 71. He was tied with Nelson Welch of Clemson (1991-94).
- Swank made a field goal in a game for the first time since the Navy game on September 27.
- Swank's second PAT attempt of the game tied the school record for PAT attempts in a career at 121. Wilson Hoyle (1986-89) also attempted 121 career PATs.
- Swank has 122 PAT attempts, breaking the previous record of 121 held by Hoyle (1986-89).
- Swank had his 121 consecutive made PAT streak snapped by missing an extra point attempt in the fourth quarter. Swank is now 121-of-122 in PAT attempts in his career.
- Swank scored five points vs. Vanderbilt to increase his career scoring to 333. That moves him into third place in ACC history, ahead of Connor Hughes of Virginia (2002-05) who scored 332 points.
Boldin Eclipses 100 Catches in Career
- Senior wide receiver D.J. Boldin became the 21st player in school history to record 100 catches in a career. He now has 103 catches for his career.
- Boldin finished the game with eight catches for 73 yards.
- He has 77 catches and 782 years during his senior season.
- Boldin has made at least six catches in his last five games.
- Boldin also contributed on the ground game, recording a career high 23 rushing yards on four attempts.
Harris Finds Endzone for First Time Since 2006
- Kevin Harris finished the game with a season-high 36 yards on a season-best seven carries.
- He scored his first rushing touchdown since September 30, 2006, when he scored two touchdowns against Liberty.
- Harris now has seven rushing touchdowns in his career.
Opponent Continue Success on Field Goals
- Bryant Hahnfeldt kicked a 33-yard field goal with 7:40 to play in the first quarter.
- It marked the fifth straight successful field goal by Wake Forest's opponents.
- On the year, Wake's opponents are 15 of 17 in field goals.
Deacs Turn Turnovers Into Points
- Wake Forest leads the nation with 35 takeaways.
- Of Wake's 244 points this season, 111 have come off the 35 takeaways.
Wake Forest Sets New Single Season Attendance Record
- Wake Forest drew a crowd of 25,902 to tonight's game.
- Wake set a school season attendance record of 221,582.
- The previous record was 197,911 set in 2003.
Miscellaneous Notes
- Wake Forest's captains were LB Aaron Curry and WR D.J. Boldin
- Wake won the toss and decided to defer. Vanderbilt chose to receive.
- Doug Weaver earned his first career start at right tackle.
- Chip Vaughn's interception late in the first quarter was his second of the season and the third of his career.
- Shane Popham's 59-yard punt in the second quarter was a career-long.

- Jim Grobe's record is now 53-44 at Wake Forest and 86-77-1 for his career.
- Grobe has led Wake Forest to a 29-21 record at home and a 25-8 record against non-conference opponents.
- Wake Forest is now 25-8 against non-conference opponents under Grobe and 13-5 at home against non-conference foes.
- Grobe's record against SEC opponents is now 4-1 (2-0 vs Ole Miss, 2-1 vs. Vandy).

- Wake Forest now trails in the series 7-5.
- The Deacons have defeated the Commodores for the first time ever at BB&T Field.
