WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The list of awards continue to grow for graduate student Natalie Mullikin, who on Wednesday was announced as earning American Volleyball Coaches Association honorable mention All-America honors.
She joins former Demon Deacon standouts Valerie Rydberg and Christy Williams as the only players to earn AVCA honorable mention All-America honors in school history.
The same list of players are also the only Deacons to earn AVCA All-Region honors, which Mullikin earned for the first time in her career this season.
The Lebanon, Ind., native had a stellar 2008 campaign and will go down as one of the best to wear the black and gold. She earned first team All-ACC honors for the second straight season after earning second team accolades as a sophomore in 2006. She is also just the second player in Wake Forest history to earn first team All-ACC honors twice.
This season, Mullikin topped the squad with 395 kills for an average of 3.41 per set and had a solid .316 hitting percentage. She also led the team with 123 total blocks including 25 block solos and 98 block assists.
Mullikin finishes her career as the school's all-time leading blocker, holding the school record for career block solos (124), career block assists (397) career total blocks (521) and career blocks per set (1.17). She also finished third all-time for career kills with 1,423.
