With the loss...
- Wake Forest drops to 13-7 overall and 3-4 in the ACC.
- Head Coach Dino Gaudio moves to 13-7 at Wake Forest and 81-131 in his eighth season overall as a head coach.
- Wake falls to 373-404 all-time in ACC play and 535-681 all-time against current ACC members.
- The Deacons move to 96-130 all-time against the Wolfpack, including a 4-5 mark at the RBC Center.
- Wake moves to 407-467 all-time against teams from the state of North Carolina, including a 2-2 mark this season.
- In head-to-head matchups among all sports combined, the Deacons are 5-2 against the Wolfpack in 2007-08.
- Wake Forest is 1,376-1,046 in its 102nd season of basketball.
Miscellaneous
- Wake Forest won the opening tip for just the second time this season.
- The Deacs have hit at least one three-pointer in 510 straight games (dating back to Feb. 8, 1992, at North Carolina).
- Wake Forest wore gold uniforms for the first time since Jan. 18, 2007, at Duke. The Deacs wore gold twice last season, winning at Miami (Jan. 6, 2007) and losing at Duke.
First Half Notes
- Wake Forest had its largest halftime lead on the road since being up by 16 (33-17) at Iowa on Nov. 26, 2007.
- The Deacons' 12 offensive boards were their highest first-half total of the season. NC State's 10 offensive rebounds tied the most for a Wake opponent in the first half this season.
- Wake Forest had a scoreless streak lasting 4:37 in the first half. Jeff Teague hit a layup to put the Deacs ahead 12-5 at the 14:27 mark. Wake did not score again until Teague hit another layup at the 9:50 mark. However, NC State was only able to score four points during Wake Forest's drought.
- The Wolfpack shot just 30.0 percent in the first half, the lowest for a Wake opponent since Charlotte shot 29.0 percent on Nov. 29, 2007.
Junior Harvey Hale
- Was the Deacons' first player off the bench (along with David Weaver), entering the game for Jeff Teague at the 13:17 mark of the first half.
Freshman James Johnson
- Started for the 20th straight game.
- Scored in double figures for the 17th time this season and the 10th time in his last 11 games.
Sophomore Chas McFarland
- Made his 17th start of the season.
- Fouled out of the game with 2:17 remaining in the second half ... It was his second foul out of the season.
Sophomore Jamie Skeen
- Made his first start since Dec. 16 against Bucknell ... it was his fourth start of the season and the 28th of his career.
- Led the team in rebounding for the second time this season and the eighth time in his career.
- Six of his eight rebounds came on the offensive end.
Sophomore Ishmael Smith
- Made his 48th straight start, the longest current streak on the team.
- Scored in double figures for the ninth time this season and the 21st time in his career.
- Was in double figures scoring in the first half for the first time this season and the second time in his career ... the last time Smith scored in double digits in the first half was Nov. 25, 2006, when he had 12 against Appalachian State ... Smith finished that game with 14 points.
- Pulled down a career-high four offensive rebounds ... Smith's previous high was three on Nov. 14, 2006, at Bucknell (the second game of his career) ... He has not had more than one offensive rebound in a game since.
- Led the team in assists (tied with Jeff Teague) for the 16th time this season and the 42nd time in his career.
Freshman Jeff Teague
- Made his 12th start of the season and his 11th straight.
- Scored in double figures for the 13th time this season and the 11th time in his last 12 games.
- Led the team in scoring for the fourth time this season.
- Led the team in assists (tied with Ishmael Smith) for the eighth time this season.
- Tallied multiple steals for the first time in four games.
Redshirt Sophomore David Weaver
- Was the Deacons' first player off the bench (along with Harvey Hale), entering the game for Chas McFarland at the 13:17 mark of the first half.
Sophomore L.D. Williams
- Missed his second straight game with a fractured right hand.
