WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 32 Wake Forest women's tennis team will hit the Tobacco Road trail this week, facing in-state rivals No. 7 Duke, No. 15 North Carolina and No. 50 NC State.
On Thursday the Blue Devils (12-3, 5-2) will host the Demon Deacons (8-7, 4-2) at 3 p.m. Duke split matches last weekend, defeating Florida State 4-3 and dropping a 4-3 match to Miami. On March 22, the Devils posted their highest upset of the season, downing then-second-ranked Georgia Tech 4-3 in Durham.
The Tar Heels (12-6, 3-2) will host the Deacs on Saturday in Chapel Hill at 1 p.m. In UNC's last outing, inclement weather suspended play against Miami with the score knotted at 2-2. A day earlier, the Heels were upset by No. 18 Florida State in Tallahassee.
Wake Forest will wrap the 2008 road slate with NC State (10-7, 3-4) on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Wolfpack is 2-2 through the last four contests, topping Marlyand and Boston College but dropping matches against Clemson and Georgia Tech.
Next week, the Deacs are set to return to their home courts at Leighton Stadium for the first time since March 9. On Friday, April 11 WFU will host Florida State at 3 p.m. and close out the regular season with Miami on Sunday, April 13 at 12 p.m.
