WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's tennis team will face Auburn in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament in Athens, Ga. on Saturday at 10 a.m.
The bid is Wake Forest's eighth consecutive appearance in the tournament and ninth invitation since 1998. Last season, the Demon Deacons advanced to the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history.
The Deacons (17-10) are 3-4 all-time against the Tigers (10-12), but haven't faced the Southeastern Conference opponent since 1987.
No. 4 seed Georgia, the event host, will face Radford in the opening round. The winners of the first matchups will then battle each other on May 11 for a spot in the Sweet 16, set for May 16 in Tulsa, Okla.
