WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest junior Allan Dykstra was selected to the 2008 ACC All-Tournament Team on Sunday.

Dykstra, who was selected at the Utility position on the team, hit .333 (4-for-12) with two home runs and five RBIs in the Tournament. He also had a pair of doubles and slugged 1.000 over three games.

Dykstra and the seventh-seeded Demon Deacons went 1-2 at the ACC Tournament held at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. Wake Forest fell to Florida State, 8-3, and North Carolina, 2-0, before ending its season with a 7-4 defeat of Virginia. The Deacs finished the year with a 25-31 overall record.

On the season, Dykstra hit a team-leading .323 with 16 home runs and 50 RBIs. The San Diego native led the Deacons in hitting, RBIs, runs, home runs, slugging and on-base percentage. Dykstra, who reached base safely in all but four games this season, ranked among the ACC leaders in home runs, on-base percentage and walks.

Dykstra also walked a Wake Forest-record 62 times this season, a total which also ranks him second in the country. He also set the school's career record for walks and HBPs and ranks third all-time in career homers.

Dykstra is one of 50 semifinalists for the 2008 Golden Spikes Award. He is a two-time All-ACC selection and earned ACC Rookie of Year honors in 2006.

In the 2008 preseason, Dykstra was named to the watch list for the Brooks Wallace Award, and he was selected as a preseason All-American by Collegiate Baseball and by Baseball America.

This marks the second straight year Wake Forest has been represented on the ACC All-Tournament Team. Shortstop Dustin Hood was named to the 2007 Team after leading the Deacons to the title game.
