WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Collegiate summer leagues are entering the final month. Here's a look at how the Demon Deacons are faring for their various teams.
Cape Cod Collegiate Baseball League
Evan Ocheltree (Chatham A's) - Hitting .253 with two home runs and nine RBIs ... Has spent most of the summer playing in the outfield and at first base ... Hit his first homer of the season against Brewster (7/11), contributing to a 7-2 victory ... Belted second homer in three games in A's victory over Falmouth (7/13).
Northwoods Baseball League
Ian Tomkins (Rochester Honkers) - Batting .156 with five RBIs and five runs scored ... Drove in two runs in Rochester's 17-6 win over St. Cloud (7/17) ... Added a hit and an RBI against Thunder Bay (7/22).
New England Summer Baseball League
Steven Brooks (Sanford Mainers) - Currently hitting .205 with a home run and five RBIs ... Has played in 28 games, including 24 starts ... Went 2-for-5 and scored two runs against Torrington (7/10).
Ryan Semeniuk (North Adams Steeplecats) - Batting .215 with 12 RBIs and 10 runs scored ... Second on the team in doubles with seven ... Has played in 31 games and made 24 starts ... Drove in three runs and had two hits against the Lowell All-Americans (7/11) ... Went 2-for-4 with two runs scored against Manchester (7/12).
Ryan McGrath (Manchester Silkworms) - Has compiled a 2-0 record with a 3.91 earned run average in 13 appearances ... Threw a scoreless inning of relief against Vermont (7/15), allowing only one hit ... Picked up his second win of the summer season against North Adams (7/18), giving up only one hit in three innings.
Mike Murray (Sanford Mainers) - Tied for second on the team in batting average with a .367 mark to go along with four RBIs and three runs scored ... Has started all eight games that he has played since joining the team ... Scored three runs and added two hits in 17-16 win over Torrington (7/10).
Phil Negus (Sanford Mainers) - Has compiled a 2-1 record with a 3.63 ERA in four appearances, including three starts ... Picked up second win of the season against Vermont (7/8), throwing 5.1 innings and allowing six hits and three runs, with only one run earned.
Coastal Plain League
Eli Robins (Asheboro Copperheads) - Currently has an 0-2 record with a 6.35 ERA in six appearances, including one start ... Opponents are hitting .211 against Robins ... Threw a scoreless inning against Wilmington (7/12), striking out two batters.
Florida Collegiate Baseball League
Ryan Bouton (Claremont Mavericks) - Has made 11 relief appearances with a 1-3 record and a 4.42 ERA ... Also has made 17 plate appearances and is hitting .176 with three RBIs ... Threw two scoreless innings against Orlando (7/18), allowing a hit and striking out four.
Carolina/Virginia Collegiate Baseball League
Brandon Johnson (Kernersville Bulldogs) - Has a 0-0 record and two saves with a 2.20 ERA in 16.1 innings pitched ... Opponents are only hitting .179 off of Johnson ... Has helped team to a 32-9 record, which is the best record in CVCBL.
Ryan Lloyd (Kernersville Bulldogs) - Hitting .265 with 11 RBIs and 10 runs scored ... Has seen action in 34 games during the season.
Cal Ripken Sr. Summer Baseball League
Ryan Burke (Alexandria Aces) - Currently has an 0-1 record with a 7.65 ERA in eight appearances, including one start ... Threw 3.2 innings against College Park (7/18), giving up four hits and four runs, with three of those runs earned.
Valley Baseball League
Alex Wiesner (Luray Wranglers) - Has a 0-0 record with a 1.86 ERA in 12 relief appearances and two starts ... Has only four earned runs while striking out 22 batters in 19.1 innings ... Hasn't allowed a run in his last seven outings, including throwing a scoreless inning with two strikeouts against Covington (7/22).
Great Lakes Summer Baseball League
Joel Ernst (Cincinnati Steam) - Currently has a 1-0 record with a 1.83 ERA in 19.2 innings ... Has made nine appearances on the season, including two starts ... Made a start against Southern Ohio (7/12) and gave up one run on two hits in three innings, while striking out three.
