Parr, Tara Named to Academic All-ACC Team

Wake Forest tennis rising seniors Cory Parr and Christian Tara have been named to the Academic All-ACC team for their athletic and academic performances in the 2008 season.

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during his/her academic career.
Cory Parr led the WFU men's tennis team at the No. 1 spot in both the singles and doubles lineup for the majority of dual match season, ending the year at the NCAA doubles quarterfinals with teammate Steven Forman. Parr will graduate with a degree in sociology in May 2009.
Christian Tara stepped into the No. 2 slot of the WFU women's singles slate in 2008, helping the Deacons earn their fifth consecutive berth to the NCAA tournament. Tara will graduate in May 2009 with a degree in mathematics.
