No. 4 Demon Deacons Primed for Three-Match Weekend Headlined by Battle with No. 1 Virginia

Wake Forest will also take on Virginia Tech on Friday in the program’s We Are Wake Green Match at 4 p.m.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 4-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team is set for a massive three-match home weekend against Virginia Tech, No. 1 Virginia and Longwood at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.
On Friday, Wake Forest will host the Hokies for the second time this season at 4 p.m., which will serve as the program's We Are Wake match, as Demon Deacon student-athletes will wear special green warmup shirts and staff will wear green ribbons for the contest.
We Are Wake empowers the Wake Forest community to recognize distress, respond effectively and connect to support. Through this initiative, We Are Wake elevates a culture of care, promotes healthy practices, equips peers with skills to help and links our community to essential resources for well-being. On Sunday, the Demon Deacons will battle the Cavaliers in the biggest ACC match of the season at 1 p.m. followed by a clash with the Lancers at 5 p.m.
Wake Forest will be looking for its fourth win all-time over a No. 1-ranked team on Sunday and could accomplish the feat in back-to-back seasons. Additionally, it would be the 17th win over a top-ranked opponent in Wake Forest sports history.
Known Wake Forest Wins Over No. 1

Wake Forest has already defeated the No. 2 (TCU) and No. 3 (Texas) teams in the current ITA rankings and also has wins over No. 8 Baylor, No. 13 Vanderbilt and No. 22 Notre Dame. In total since the start of last season, the Deacs have secured 14 victories against top-10 opponents and nine against teams inside the top five.
Additionally, the Demon Deacons can extend their nation-leading home match winning streak to 44 with victories in all three of this weekend's matches. Since 2013, Wake Forest has the most home wins (238) in the county and the second-most overall wins (376).
Wake Forest has also won 21-consecutive ACC regular season matches following a flawless run last year and has taken a total of 122 conference victories since the start of the 2013 campaign, good for second during that span.

With nine matches remaining, the Demon Deacons hold a combined 73-15 record in singles and a 43-9 mark in doubles, including eight sweeps in their last nine matches. Sophomore Joaquin Guilleme leads the team with a 14-2 singles record, followed by Luca Pow at 12-3.
Freshmen Standouts
Wake Forest freshmen have accounted for 30 wins this season, led by three-time ACC Freshman of the Week Mees Rottgering (10-2) and the most recent honoree Dominick Mosejczuk, who remains a perfect 10-0 in singles play.
Demon Deacon Depth
The Deacs have put together one of the deepest lineups in the sport and have proven it week after week. Wake Forest has a 44-5 combined singles record on courts four, five and six. Additionally, the team has only dropped one of those three courts once since the start of ACC play.
Chasing History
DK Suresh and Luca Pow have played a major role in Wake Forest's success over the last three years and have been climbing up the program record books. Suresh is already seventh all time in career doubles wins (91) and Pow is two away from cracking the top 10 himself.

Last Time Out (vs. Louisville/Davidson)
The No. 4-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team extended its home winning streak to 41-consecutive matches on Sunday as it defeated No. 42 Louisville and Davidson, both by a score of 4-0, at the Wake Forest Tennis Center last Sunday.
Wake Forest improved to 19-2 all-time against Louisville, including 14 wins in a row over the Cardinals dating back to 2013. Against the Wildcats, the Deacs are now 20-2 all-time in the series with 19-consecutive wins since 1983.
The Demon Deacons took the doubles point in both matches as they have now opened with a 1-0 lead in 11-consecutive matches and 19 times overall.
Of note, junior Luca Pow picked up two doubles wins on the day, one with Charlie Robertson on court two against Louisville (6-2) followed by a court three victory alongside Ariel Zauber over Davidson (6-2). The Englishman is now two wins from being tied for eighth in program history with 86 doubles wins.
Additionally, with his 6-1 win with freshman Dominick Mosejczuk in the second match, Suresh moved to just one win from being tied for fifth.
On court one against Louisville, Suresh, the No. 18-ranked player in the nation, picked up his third singles win of his 2026 spring campaign as he downed Walid Ahouda, 6-3, 7-5. This marked his 65th singles victory in a Wake Forest uniform and 40th in dual match play as he continues to cement himself as one of the all-time Demon Deacons.
Closing in on the top 10 in program history with 90 career singles wins, Pow improved to 12-3 this season with 6-3, 6-1 victory over Andre Steinbach (Louisville) on court two. He has now contributed to 175 combined singles and doubles wins over the last three years, the most out of any active Wake Forest player.
For the second time this weekend, freshman standout Dominick Mosejczuk clinched the ACC victory as he took down Hamza El Amine (6-4, 6-4). He is now a perfect 10-0 in singles this spring and became the fourth separate Demon Deacon with double digit wins.
In the second match, sophomore Joaquin Guilleme picked up his team-leading 14th singles win of the season, defeating Davide Procacci, 6-0, 6-0, without dropping a game.
Delgado followed with a 6-3, 6-1 victory on court four over Kai Villagomez, improving to 5-0 in singles this spring to go along with a perfect 11-0 mark in doubles.
Sophomore Cornelius Shalmi slid into the lineup and made the most of the opportunity, clinching the match against the Wildcats with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Connor Cole on court five. He joins Delgado with an undefeated 5-0 singles record in dual match play this season.
Rankings Update
The Demon Deacons were tabbed as the fourth-best team in the nation in the latest ITA poll and is one of five ACC teams ranked inside the top 25 as we approach the postseason. Individually, Wake Forest has five singles players and two doubles pairs ranked.

Since arriving at Wake Forest, head coach Tony Bresky has enjoyed a highly-decorated career, winning ITA National Coach of the Year in 2018 and 2025, along with garnering ACC Coach of the Year honors in 2013, 2016 and 2025.
Bresky led Wake Forest to its first-ever national title in 2018, after accumulating a 33-2 mark and most recently led one of the most dominant seasons in collegiate tennis history as the Deacs won 40 matches en route to capturing the ACC regular season title, ITA Indoor Title and NCAA Championship.
Individually, Bresky has coached two ACC Players of the Year (Noah Rubin and Melios Efstathiou), along with 40 All-ACC selections and 12 ITA Singles All-Americans.
During his tenure at Wake Forest, Bresky has amassed 388 wins. Of note, early in 2023 with a victory over No. 6 Tennessee, Bresky became the winningest coach in program history, surpassing the legendary Jim Leighton. Most recently against Texas, he reached the 400-career win mark.
