Women's Tennis Opens Season at UGA Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's tennis team will begin the fall tournament schedule this weekend at the Georgia Invitational, with competition against athletes from Duke, Ole Miss, Indiana, TCU, Virginia and UGA.

Doubles play will begin on Friday and Saturday at 10 a.m. followed by singles at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. On Sunday, doubles will begin at 9 a.m. followed by singles at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

The preseason poll was released by the ITA earlier this week and Wake Forest's 2007 and 2008 MVP Sasha Kulikova earned a team-high No. 50 rank. Kulikova finished the 2007-08 season with a 27-10 overall record, bringing her career mark to a stellar 53-16 record at the start of her junior season.
