WFU Hosts NC State for Family Services Night

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's basketball team will host NC State on Monday, January 26 at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on Fox Sports South and will serve as Family Services Night, an initiative to promote awareness of domestic violence.
The Demon Deacons (13-4, 1-3) recently suffered their first home loss of the season, falling 64-60 to Clemson. Senior Alex Tchangoue continues to lead the Deacons in scoring and rebounding, picking up a career-high 24 points against the Tigers and posting her second consecutive double-double with 12 rebounds.
The Wolfpack (8-11, 0-4) is seeking its first conference win of the season after falling 72-60 to Miami on Thursday evening in Coral Gables, Fla. Freshman standout Bonae Holston led the game with 23 points and 12 rebounds, her third double-double in the last four games. Overall, the Pack is led by Shayla Fields in scoring, who averages 17.6 points per game.
NC State holds a daunting 57-7 all-time advantage over the Deacons and has won the last five matchups. Wake Forest last topped NC State on January 7, 2006 in Winston-Salem.
The televised game will feature play-by-play from Mike Hogewood and color commentary from Debbie Antonelli.
Family Services Night
The Women's Basketball program has partnered with Family Services, Inc. to promote Family Services Night, a Domestic Violence awareness initiative.
Fans who bring in any type of cell phone equipment to donate will receive free admission to the game. The first 500 fans will also receive a free purple rally towel in honor of Family Services and their dedication to the fight against domestic violence. There will also be several opportunities for fans to win prizes throughout the game. Family Services will have staff on hand on the concourse of the Coliseum to educate fans on how they can help and volunteer.
For over 100 years, Family Services has been serving families in Forsyth, Stokes and Davie Counties in North Carolina. Each year they assist nearly 2,000 individuals and families by providing a wide array of programs to strengthen families through programs and services in the following areas:

Safe Relationships (which includes services for victims of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault)
