Team Records and Series Notes- Wake Forest falls to 17-2 overall and 5-2 in Atlantic Coast Conference play, while Georgia Tech improves to 10-10 and 1-6 in league play.
- Georgia Tech pulls to within two in the all-time series at 34-32.
- Wake Forest has now lost its last five games in Alexander Memorial Coliseum dating back to the 2003-04 season.
- The Deacs dropped their first game on the road this season, falling to 6-1 overall.
- Wake Forest returns to action on Wednesday, February 4, traveling to Miami to face Miami. Opening tip from the Bank United Center is set for 7:30 p.m. (EST) and the game will be aired live on ESPN 2 (television) and the Wake Forest ISP Radio Network.
Wake Forest Team Notes
- Key Stretch: Wake Forest scored just four points in the last 2:45 and turned the ball over three times in the last :35 seconds of the second half while Tech scored eight points and did not turn the ball over during that same stretch.
- Key Stat: Georgia Tech had a total of 10 blocks in the game including a career-high six from Alade Aminu.
- The Deacs led the battle in the paint, outscoring the Jackets 38-32.
- Wake has outscored its opponent in the paint in all but one game this season.
- Tech out rebounded Wake 44-35 marking the sixth time that has happened this season.
- Wake Forest shot 44.6 percent (29-of-65) from the field and recorded a season-best 54.4 percent (6-of-11) from beyond the arc.
- Jeff Teague's three-point basket at the 17:35 mark of the first half extended Wake Forest's consecutive games with a three-point basket streak to 539.
Aminu vs. Aminu
- Today's game marked just the second-time in ACC history that brothers squared off against each other on the hardwood. Wake's Al-Farouq Amino scored 17 points compared to his older brother Alade, who is a senior for Georgia Tech, scoring 10 points.
- With eight points today, McFarland is now averaging 15 points per game in his three games against Georgia Tech, the most for him against any one team.
- Reached double-figures in scoring for the seventh time in his last eight games with 13 points.
- Dished out a career-high six assists and added seven rebounds.
- Sophomore guard Jeff Teague was the third Demon Deacon in double figures, adding 15 points. Teague has scored in double figures in every game this season and has a streak of 23 straight games with at least 10 points dating back to last season.
- Scored 17 points today, which marked the fourth-straight game he has scored at least ten points and it was the 15th game this season he has reached double-figures.
- The freshman also grabbed 11 rebounds to record the eighth double-double of his rookie season and his third in the last four games.
- His 17 points were a team-high and it marked the fourth time this season he has led the team in scoring.
