Wake Forest (15-5-2) is in the third round of the NCAA Tournament for just the second time in program history and first time since 1999. The Demon Deacons defeated West Virginia 3-0 on Sunday to advance to the third round.
South Carolina (19-3-2) is in the third round of the tournament for the first time in program history. The Gamecocks defeated Davidson 4-0 in the first round, before downing Rutgers 1-0 in the second round.
Hutchinson Named to Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Season: Senior forward Jill Hutchinson has been named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Season. The Wayne, Pa., native received third team honors from Top Drawer Soccer.
Hutchinson has enjoyed a record-breaking senior season, scoring a school single-season record of 14 goals in 2009 and leading the team with 31 points. Hutchinson ranks in a tie for third in the Atlantic Coast Conference in goals and is tied for fourth in points.
A 2009 All-ACC First Team selection, Hutchinson has also become the school's all-time leading goal scorer this season, raising her career total to 36 goals. She also ranks in a tie for second in career points in school history with 84.
Luckhurst Earns Team of the Week Honors from Top Drawer Soccer: Junior midfielder Casey Luckhurst was named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week after scoring the first three goals of her collegiate career.
After not scoring in her first 46 college games, Luckhurst provided three goals in a pair of Wake Forest wins over the weekend.
A native of Boca Raton, Fla., Luckhurst scored the first two goals of her collegiate career in the Demon Deacons' 2-0 win against Kennesaw State on Friday. She came back to score a goal on Sunday in a 3-0 win over West Virginia.
Sadow Becomes Wake's All-Time Leader in Career Games Played: With a pair of starts over the weekend, senior forward Allie Sadow has become Wake Forest's all-time leader in career games played.
Sadow has played in 89 career games, including 71 starts. The forward from Charlotte, N.C., broke the record of 87 games played, which was previously held by Anne Shropshire (1996-99).
Senior defenders Caitlin Farrell and Sarah Winslow are also climbing the school's career games played list. Farrell ranks second with 88 games played and is also in a tie for fifth in career games started with 80 starts. Winslow has played in 86 games, which places her in a tie for fourth in school annals.
