WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Senior forward Kaley Fountain earned her second All-American honor of 2009 as she was named to the Soccer America MVP second team, as announced on Thursday morning.
Fountain also earned All-American accolades from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, being named a third-team All-American by the organization earlier this month.
A 2009 All-ACC first team selection, Fountain equaled the school record for points in a season with 32, tying teammate Jill Hutchinson for the team lead. The Austin, Texas, native recorded a team-high 10 assists and also added 11 goals in 2009, becoming one of just 13 players nationwide to record double-digit totals in both goals and assists. Of her 11 goals, three of them were game winners and she also contributed five game-winning assists.
For her career, Fountain played in 86 games, including 81 career starts. She finished with 55 points, scoring 16 goals and 23 assists. Fountain ranks second in school history in career assists and in a tie for fifth in career games played.
