New Golf Center Construction - UPDATE

The new learning center is coming along. The land was graded and the foundation was poured midway through October and now the workers are putting on the roof. The wet weather over the past few weeks has made climbing on top of the building difficult but they have been working diligently when possible.
The center is on schedule to be completed around the middle of February, just in time for the teams to use it this spring. It will feature five hitting bays with one extended bay with a full range of cameras to analyze the swing. It will also have a putting room with a number of cameras as well as a club repair room.
Perhaps the most exciting part of the range so far has been the putting and chipping greens. The two greens that were sodded have come in nicely and are already being used by the teams. The other two greens that were seeded have used the wet weather to root nicely and they look spectacular.
With the grass growing in and the learning center taking shape, it is very easy to get excited for for what is and will be the future of Wake Forest golf.
The second phase of the process will be the construction of the Golf House. The state-of-the-art facility will house offices for both coaches, separate team locker rooms as well as an indoor putting green.
Stay tuned to WakeForestSports.com for more photos of the construction process.
The new facility was also featured on ESPN's broadcast of the Wake Forest vs. Miami football game on Oct. 31. Click here to view the clip.December 1, 2009
