No. 19 Gamecocks Host No. 18 Deacons on Thursday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The 18th-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team (9-4) is headed south for a midweek contest with No. 19 South Carolina (12-3) on Thursday. The match will begin at 2 p.m. at the Sam Daniel Tennis Facility in Columbia, S.C.
Wake Forest senior Cory Parr climbed from No. 31 to No. 26 in the ITA singles poll released on Tuesday. Parr leads the Deacons at No. 1 with an 8-3 record. Sophomore Jonathan Wolff currently holds the most dual match wins for Wake Forest, posting a 9-0 mark through play at Nos. 2, 4, 5.
Cory Parr and junior Steven Forman were ranked the top doubles team in the nation for the second consecutive poll. They will likely face 29th-ranked Diego Cubas and Ivan Muchado at No. 1 doubles on Thursday.
The Gamecocks dropped two Southeastern Conference road matches last weekend, falling 4-1 at Tennessee and Georgia to snap a 9-match win-streak. 50th-ranked Deigo Cubas leads South Carolina at No. 1 singles and holds an 8-5 record in 2009.
Wake Forest will hop a flight from South Carolina and head straight to College Park, Md. to open conference season at Maryland at March 20.
