Highlight of Tracy's first goal | Postmatch interview with Tracy
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - With the Major League Soccer season getting underway last week and the professional soccer season overseas well underway, several former members of the Wake Forest men's soccer team are playing prominent roles for their respective teams. Here's an update on some former Demon Deacons.
Marcus Tracy (2005-08) - Tracy has played a major role for Danish League team Aalborg during the last two games ... Played in his first professional game against Manchester City in the second leg of the UEFA Cup round of the 16 and assisted on a goal ... Made his first start against FC Midtjylland and scored the game-winning goal in Aalborg's 3-2 victory
Brian Carroll (2000-02) - Played the entire 90 minutes for Columbus in its season opener ... The Crew tied Houston 1-1 in the first game of the season.
Sam Cronin (2005-08) - Made his professional debut in Toronto FC's season opener against Kansas City ... Cronin played the entire 90 minutes.
Will Hesmer (2000-03) - Started in goal for the Columbus Crew in the season opener against Houston ... Made three saves and allowed one goal ... Earned a tie as Columbus scored late to force a 1-1 draw.
Michael Lahoud (2005-08) - Lahoud played in his first professional game in Chivas USA's first game of the season ... Lahoud entered the game in the 54th minute as Chivas rallied for a 2-1 win over Colorado.
James Riley (2001-04) - Started as a defender in the first game for Seattle Sounders FC in the MLS ... Riley played the entire game in the Sounders 3-0 win over New York.
Wells Thompson (2003-06) - Played the entire 90 minutes in the season opener for the New England Revolution ... The Revs opened the season with a 1-0 victory over San Jose.
Lyle Adams (2005-08) - Recently signed a two-year contract with Austin Aztex FC of the USL First Division ... The Aztex open their season on Friday, April 3, against the Puerto Rico Islanders.
