Jeff Teague Named AP All-American

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest sophomore guard Jeff Teague has been named honorable mention All-America by the Associated Press, as announced by the organization on Monday.
The All-America honor is the fifth so far for Teague, who has also been honored by the USBWA, the NABC, the Sporting News and FoxSports.com.
Teague led the Demon Deacons and ranked fifth in the ACC with 18.8 points per game in 2008-09. He also ranked third in the league in steals (1.9 spg) and seventh in assists (3.5 apg), leading the team in both categories.
The Indianapolis native tied for the conference lead with three 30-point performances and holds the longest current streak in the ACC for double-figure scoring at 35 games.
Teague was named second team All-ACC and was a finalist for the Bob Cousy Award, Oscar Robertson Trophy and Wooden Award.
Teague is the 13th player in program history and the first since Chris Paul in 2004-05 to be named an All-American.
