
Wake Forest Summer League Update - July 24

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest is well represented in collegiate summer baseball leagues, with 14 Deacs playing throughout the country. Here's an update on how they are doing.
Cape Cod Summer League
Junior outfielder Steven Brooks is hitting .273 with two home runs and nine RBIs in 30 games played with Chatham. He leads the team in doubles (7), total bases (37), walks (17) and ranks second on the team in hits (24), stolen bases (5) and on-base percentage (.402).
Sophomore pitcher Michael Dimock has made seven relief appearances for the Bourne Braves and has a 1-0 record with a 4.73 ERA. Dimock has given up eight runs, seven of them earned, on 11 hits in 13 1/3 innings pitched. He has struck out 13 and walked just four.
Sophomore infielder Shane Kroker played in four games with the Hyannis Mets. Kroker hit .200 with a run scored and an RBI.
Senior catcher Mike Murray is hitting a team-leading .360 with a homer and five RBIs with the Chatham Anglers. He also leads Chatham in slugging percentage (.440) and on-base percentage (.475). Murray was the starting catcher for the Eastern Division All-Stars at the Cape Cod League All-Star Game on Thursday night and drew a walk in his only plate appearance.
New England Collegiate Baseball League
Sophomore infielder/outfielder Carlos Lopez has played and started eight games for the New Bedford Bay Sox. Lopez is hitting .235 with five runs scored and an RBI. He also has recorded two doubles.
Coastal Plain League
Junior pitcher Ryan McGrath has made 18 relief appearances with the Wilmington Sharks and has a 1-3 record and one save with a 2.08 ERA. In 30 1/3 innings pitched, McGrath has allowed 11 runs, seven of them earned, on 20 hits, while striking out 20. Opponents have hit just .196 against McGrath over the summer.
Florida Collegiate Summer League
Redshirt junior pitcher Ryan Bouton has made a team-high 17 relief appearances for the Clermont Mavericks. Bouton has an 0-0 record and one save with a 7.71 ERA in 23 1/3 innings. He has allowed 25 runs, including 20 earned runs, on 32 hits. Bouton has also recorded 20 strikeouts.
Sophomore infielder Bentley Heyman started two games for Clermont and hit .500 with a run scored. Heyman was a perfect 2-for-2 in stolen bases. He has returned to Wake Forest for the remainder of the summer to rehab an injury.
Redshirt Junior outfielder Ryan Semeniuk is hitting .244 with 11 RBIs in 27 games played, including 20 starts. Semeniuk has five doubles on the summer and has stolen six bases.
Cal Ripken, Sr. Collegiate Baseball League
Sophomore pitcher Gabe Feldman has appeared in four games, including three starts, for the Bethesda Big Train and has a 2-0 record with a 2.25 ERA. In 16 innings of work, Feldman has allowed six runs, four of them earned, on 12 hits. He has struck out 14 and walked six. Feldman has held opposing hitters to a .203 batting average.
Great South Collegiate Baseball League
Junior pitcher Mark Adzick has pitched well for the Kernersville Bulldogs, posting a 5-1 record with a 2.72 ERA in eight appearances, including six starts. Adzick has given up 12 runs, 11 of them earned, on 29 hits in 36 1/3 innings. He ranks second on the team with 41 strikeouts and opposing hitters are batting .236 against him.
Junior pitcher Brandon Johnson has also fared well with Kernersville over the summer. In nine games, including five starts, Johnson has a 4-0 record with a 1.80 ERA. In 30 innings, Johnson has surrendered nine runs, six of them earned, on 27 hits. He has struck out 38 batters and allowed just seven walks. Opponents are hitting .237 against him.
Junior outfielder Ryan Lloyd is hitting .276 with three home runs and 15 RBIs in 22 games started with the Newnan Braves. Lloyd has a .569 slugging percentage and a .425 on-base percentage.
Junior pitcher Eli Robins has made four relief appearances for Kernersville and is 0-0 with a 9.82 ERA. Robins allowed a run in the only inning he has pitched during the summer.
