Murray Earns All-Cape Cod League Selection

CHATHAM, Mass. - Wake Forest senior catcher Mike Murray was honored for his outstanding summer by being named to the All-Cape Cod League team, as announced this week.

Murray was one of 26 players selected to the All-League team and one of two catchers on the squad.

Murray enjoyed a breakout summer with the Chatham Anglers. The Westfield, N.J., native hit a team-leading .347 during the summer with a home run and five RBIs. Murray also led the team with a .447 on-base percentage. For his efforts, he was named a Cape Cod League All-Star and started at catcher for the Eastern Division in the All-Star Game at Fenway Park.

Murray also enjoyed a solid junior season at Wake Forest. He finished third on the team with a .306 batting average with six home runs and 37 RBIs. Murray had a .404 on-base percentage and a .462 slugging percentage. Murray also had a solid defensive season, committing just two errors and turning in a .994 fielding percentage.

Entering his senior season at Wake Forest, Murray has played in 140 games, including 112 starts. He has a career .279 batting average with 14 home runs and 89 RBIs.
